  3. Oh, and thanks Grudknows for the link to Audacity which got me up and running on free recording software.

  4. This thing is on!  You sound terrific, ‘mouse—and you’re reading one of my favorite essays of yours.  Happy sigh.

By a remarkable coincidence, I have learned that my audioblogging client of choice (audblog) will not be accepting phone recordings anymore, so I’m in the market for new recording software.  Thanks, Grud.  :)

  6. How exciting! ‘mouse has a voice!

And he tells a fine story.  My friend the earth goddess/lawyer is currently writing a book and she came over the other night and read to my sister (who happened to be about because she was bored) and I.  It was fantastic.  I’m now waiting for my sister to get back from Interstate so we can make a date to get the earth goddess over to read to us again.

I love actually hearing you guys.  I’m not sure why this is so, but it most definitely is.

When bunni and bakerina’s voices went up, I couldn’t listen to them at work (well, not without drawing a lot of unnecceary attention to myself - I’m in a very open and very quiet work place for the last few weeks) so had to burn them, take them hope and play them on the stero… I have no patience.

    :)

    Thanks!

    And… Who’s next?

(I need to get more web time so I can get to scrine more often, I shudder to think what I’ve missed the last month or so).

In terms of audacity - you’re welcome… the reason I was looking for it was my sister and I were making honeycomb and madly experimenting with variations to the recipe.  We were going to put the recipe on the ‘Net - but it’s the kind of cooking that comes with squawking and eek-ing and much excitable noise, so we thought we should tape that to give people a true feel for the experience - the recorder on the laptop had a 30 second cut off so I had to find something that wasn’t so limiting.  We haven’t done the recording yet (it was a moment thing) but I’m sure we’ll do it for something else sometime.

    Over and out!

  7. Remember when we were all harassing you to start a blog, and a decade later Keith finally found a way to force you to do it? Well, now I think it’s time we start badgering you to start a podcast.

By the way, how on earth did your grandmother ever find the time to watch TV, especially considering that she lived before TiVo? If I was always scurrying about like that, all my programs would pass me by.
