A Few Simple Rules to Live By in 2006:  Violate at Your Own Peril

1) Never type anything into a computer that you would be unhappy defending in a court of law or the court of public opinion.  This includes emails, instant messages and even your own local documents.
2) Never say anything on a cell phone that you would mind the government or the kinds of people who have sophisticated scanning technology hearing.
3) Never conduct an illegal business by telephone, even by landline.
4) Never store anything on a non-backed-up computer that you would care if disappeared in a massive hard drive crash.
5) Never trust a website to be your offsite backup storage.
6) Assume that every word or picture you post to the internet will be forever stored and easily traceable to you.

7) ...  (your additions?)
