Anti-Sabbatical
Today, the first day of the Year of the Boar, my anti-sabbatical begins. What with moving to a new house, launching over-enthusiastic remodeling projects, and trying to take a more pro-active approach to the work day, I can pretty much assure y’all that updates here will be spotty.
That said, I’ll write and photograph when I can.

Casa ‘Mouse
If they really turn over the keys to me next Tuesday I’m never leaving the back yard. Ever. (Which is a good thing since the inside of the house is largely un-updated since 1973 and it’s going to be a couple years before I get it shipshape.

More Fun With Wood
Several months ago I rescued a whole bunch of quartersawn oak flooring from a tear-down house I learned of via Craigslist (Yeah, Craigslist!).
More recently, Mrs. ‘Mouse picked up three nice, simple lithographs of California landmarks. She asked me to make some picture frames for them.
The result… after many ‘mouse-hours over several weeks of shop work which used nearly ever tool in the shop: planer, chop saw, table saw, router, clamps, sander, etc.
Now I just need to add some hangers and find a place for them.
